[A Message from the Founder] 18 Years of Vigil: Why We’re Choosing an Early Closure This Lunar New Year’s Eve
Share
Since 2007, Private Structure has been a part of your Lunar New Year celebrations for 18 years.
Traditionally, on every Lunar New Year’s Eve, we were among the last to turn off the lights in the heart of Mong Kok. We took pride in being there until the very last minute, ensuring every customer could start their year with a fresh pair of "Fu" (prosperity). But after everything we've been through, I’ve realized that no matter how fast we gallop forward, nothing beats the warmth of a family embrace.
Why Choose to Turn Back Early This Year?
Facing the changes in our city and having personally experienced the loss of a loved one this past year, the empty seat at the dinner table has been a stark reminder. I’ve realized that both I and my team need a place to rest. Therefore, I have decided to lead my team to an early closure at 7:00 PM tonight. Closing two hours early is to reclaim the reunion we’ve missed; it’s about giving time back to the families who need us most.
Lunar New Year Traditions: Wealth from Within
While our store closes early, we remain deeply committed to the traditions that define this season. As we enter the Year of the Horse, we want to share a few tips for good fortune:
1. Buy "Pants" for "Prosperity"
In Cantonese, the word for "pants" (Fu) sounds exactly like the word for "wealth" or "prosperity." Wearing a fresh pair of red underwear is more than just a ritual; it’s a symbol of Wealth from Within. True confidence and fortune start from the inner layer.
2. The New Year Fortune Walk
The first three days of the New Year are perfect for a "Fortune Walk" with family. While our Mong Kok flagship takes a break, our counters at SOGO (CWB/KT) and Citistore will remain open as usual. Visit us during your walk to gear up with our latest auspicious collections.
3. "Goddess of Mercy" Blessing & Instant Fortune
While many seek blessings from temples, we are bringing the fortune to you. Upon our reopening on the 4th day of the New Year, visit our Mong Kok store for our "Fortune on the Horse" event. Scan to receive a digital "Lai See" (Red Packet) with rewards up to $100 to kickstart your year with a bang!
"Some say Hong Kong is becoming colder, but as long as the fire in our hearts remains, the human touch will never fade. Thank you for 18 years of support. Tonight, we are going home for dinner."
